Manchester City officially announced the acquisition of Australian Melbourne Heart F.C.

While Manchester United are still doing last-ditch effort in the introduction of Mata, Manchester City responded of acquiring a whole team. On Jan. 23, Manchester City club's official website announced that they have officially acquired the Australian Premier League giant Melbourne Heart.
Melbourne Heart, founded in 2009, ranking ninth in the A-League last season. The current captain is Harry Kewell, who has won Champions League along with Liverpool. Manchester City's official website announced that they together with Australia's Melbourne Storm Rugby League completed this acquisition. The proportion of shares in which the latter is 20%. Manchester City CEO Soriano said: "to get this opportunity we are very excited. We want to help Melbourne to become the region's most successful football club, even through Australia. We believe that a strong sporting culture of Melbourne is capable of forming a strong football industry.
Currently, the Australian Super League is underway. Out of the respect for the club achievements, coaches and players, Manchester City will not make any significant statement until mid-year. Soriano added: " The first thing we need to do is to listen and learn, and then gradually develop according to plan, and enhance the strength of the club ."
