Alexis Sanchez scored a second-half goal as Barcelona and Lionel Messi struggled past Espanyol 1-0 on 1st,Nov. to remain top of the Spanish La Liga.

While Barcelona labored to another victory, they maintained their impressive start under new coach Gerardo Martino who has led the team to 34 of a possible 36 points.

Under new boss Gerardo Martino, the Catalans have won 11 of their opening 12 matches, including last weekend's 2-1 home win over arch-rivals Real Madrid.
